Grilled peaches with crumble is our summer go-to dessert during peak peach season! They are easy to make, and the combination of warm, caramelized peaches, with a crunchy crumble topping and a scoop cool ice-cream is simply irresistible!

A grilled peach with a crumble topping and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

We like to make them in front of our guests by the grill, and they take no time at all to assemble. You can even enlist a guest or two to help with adding the crumble and scooping on the ice-cream.

    Ingredients you will need

    • Peaches
    • Olive oil
    • Balsamic vinegar
    • Salt
    • Light brown sugar
    • Whole grain granola
    • Vanilla ice cream

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

Preheat the grill to medium heat (approximately 350°F)

Mix brown sugar with granola and set aside.

Lightly brush the cut side of each peach with olive oil and balsamic, then give one light grind (or shake) of salt from height. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Place peaches cut side down on grill. Grill covered, for 8-10 minutes or until peaches are tender and begin to caramelize.

Place grilled peaches in individual serving dishes and sprinkle with crumble. Serve with ice cream (or thick yogurt).

    Variations

Breakfast – My wife claims any leftovers are also fantastic for breakfast with a dollop of vanilla yogurt instead of ice cream!

Skip the crumble topping and ice-cream! Serve as a side with grilled proteins -Served here with turkey skewers, other grilled veggies, a grilled corn & tomato salad and skillet flatbread.

Fresh herbs – Add some fresh mint or basil for a burst of flavour.

Served here with grilled pork, smashed potatoes, garden tomato bruschetta & corn.

    Top Tip 🍑

    • Peaches are best to grill when just having ripened. Over ripe peaches will get to mushy and under ripe peaches will have a crunchie texture.
    • In Ontario, local peaches are at their peak of freshness in July, August and September.
